This evening’s main events at the Quarter Horse Congress included Junior Hunter Under Saddle and Senior Western Pleasure. First, Dasi Jablonowski skipped across the pond to show Hubbout A Dance to a big win in Junior Hunter Under Saddle for High Range Ranch.

“Henry” is a 4-year-old gelding by the Porter family’s stallion, Hubba Hubba Huntin. “He was Reserve last year and won at the AQHA World Show with Beth Case,” says Alicia Porter. “She usually doesn’t ride horses during back to back years, to make it more fair for everyone in the barn. So, Dasi flew over from Europe to show him. She hopped on him last night. That was the first time she rode him. He was awesome. I’ve always loved the way Dasi rides.”

Coming up next, Alicia and Henry will show in the Open Non Pro Maturity and Beth will rejoin Henry to compete in the Open Maturity.

The Reserve Champion was Beth Case with Couture Blue Genes. Third was Nancy Sue Ryan with Hotforyourhonor. Fourth was Dawn Baker with Mito Been Me. Fifth was Carmen Mayabb with Iron I A Legacy.

Gil Galyean rode Made By J to win her second Congress Championship title of the day. Earlier today, the mare’s owner, Dr. Candice Hall, rode “Jolene” to win her first Congress Championship in the Non Pro Limited Maturity.

“She’s means a lot to us,” Gil says. “She’s always been a neat horse to ride. Last year, at the Congress, we were Reserve in Junior Western Riding and Reserve in the Maturity on the same day. She’s such a great loper. It’s easy for her. She’s got so much self carriage. She has a lot of lift. We’re lucky to have her.”

Both Candice and Galyean are excited that they have two, up and coming yearlings out of Made By J and by Only In The Moonlight. “I hope they lope like her!” Gil says.

The Reserve Champion was Ashley Lakins with RR Magical Moonlite. Third was Casey Willis with KM Weknowsheshot. Fourth was Andrew Sharp with Rock County Kid. Fifth was Kenny Lakins with Lazy Holla Dayz.
