The Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show returns November 1-17 to State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. Owners, exhibitors and fans will notice changes when they view the 2018 tentative schedule, which is now available online under the schedule tab at www.aqha.com/worldshow.

Member feedback aided the AQHA Show Department in crafting the 2018 Lucas Oil World tentative schedule. Based on feedback from trainers, owners and exhibitors, the AQHA Show Department staff made adjustments to how they created the show’s 2018 schedule. AQHA staff also received feedback and suggestions from the AQHA Show Committee before the tentative schedule was approved by the AQHA Executive Committee.

“What keeps us in awe of the American Quarter Horse is the versatility of the breed. That’s what makes the Lucas Oil World so special – we see thousands of horses and exhibitors come together to vie for the world championship titles in a multitude of events,” said AQHA Chief Show Officer Pete Kyle. “Because this show is so diverse, there are certainly challenges that arise when developing the schedule each year. We’re very appreciative of the trainers, owners and exhibitors who aided us in updating the schedule for this year, along with the AQHA show council.”

Exhibitors, please take notice of schedule changes before making travel plans and reservations for the 2018 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show. To view the updated show schedule, visit www.aqha.com/worldshow.

The Lucas Oil World also plays host to the AQHA Level 2 Championships, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan). Qualifying for these two events ends July 31, 2018.

The Association has also added more Level 1 stakes classes at the 2018 Lucas Oil World. In addition to the previously offered Level 1 stakes western pleasure and hunter under saddle classes, this year, Level 1 stakes trail, ranch riding and western riding will also be offered. There are no qualifying requirements for the stakes classes; horses only need to be Level 1 eligible to enter. Entries for the stakes classes close at 5 p.m. the day before each class.

Find your horse’s eligibility at www.aqha.com/leveling.

Exhibitors of the 2018 Lucas Oil World will also want to save the date for the AQHA Awards Celebration. AQHA will recognize the 2017 year-end high-point winners Sunday, November 11, during an “Oscar-style” party held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. The Lucas Oil World schedule was modified to allow exhibitors and their connections time away from the show for the banquet. The show’s scheduled start time on Monday, November 12, was also adjusted to accommodate for the celebration. More details about the awards celebration will be released on www.aqha.com/worldshow
