Entry Info For 2020 AQHA Youth World

Filed under: Club & Show News,Club and Show News |

AQHA Publicity

All AQHYA exhibitors are invited to enter the 2020 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show, slated for July 29 – August 8 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to welcome all AQHYA exhibitors to compete at this year’s show since the AQHA Executive Committee waived the qualifying requirements due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “This year’s show will feature youth riders and their American Quarter Horses representing all levels competing in Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes.”

Entry Information

AQHYA exhibitors interested in competing at the Ford Youth World will continue to work through their respective advisers to enter the show to compete in Level 3 and Adequan® Level 2 classes, similar to previous years. As a reminder, youth are required to meet affiliate requirements to compete at the show. View the list of affiliate youth advisers. Contact your youth adviser for more details on the Ford Youth World requirements and newly added online entry options.

Youth exhibitors entering only Nutrena Level 1 classes can enter online at www.aqha.com/youthworld and will not be required to work through a youth adviser to enter.

How-To Enter Based on the Level of Classes

  • To enter Level 3 and/or Adequan® Level 2 classes, contact your youth adviser.
  • To enter Nutrena Level 1 classes, in addition to Level 3 and/or Adequan® Level 2 classes, contact your youth adviser.
  • To enter ONLY Nutrena Level 1 classes, enter online at www.aqha.com/youthworld.

Performance Halter Requirements

Horses competing in performance halter at the Ford Youth World must abide by AQHA SHW365.3 for performance halter eligibility regarding having earned a Register of Merit. With the exception of racehorses that have earned an ROM, all other performance halter-eligible horses are required to enter and legitimately compete in a performance class. When showing in the performance class, exhibitors must maintain the integrity of the performance class in which they are competing. Judges will adhere to AQHA Rule SHW910.5 when judging the performance class, “eliminate any horse/exhibitor as an entry which he/she feels is in violation of the intent of AQHA’s prohibited conduct rules, or which he/she does not feel has legitimately attempted to exhibit the horse to the best of the horse’s ability.”
