Chasing Her Dreams One Batch at a Time

When Cecelia Bischoff attended a summer camp at Taylor Made Performance Horses in 2022, she fell in love with horses completely.

“I used to joke when Cecelia was a baby that she was my little tree-hugging animal lover because she always loved being outside and was always trying to rescue animals,” explains her mom, Katie Kennedy-Bischoff.  “She had this love for them that was so delicate and kind.”

It truly began, Katie explains, when Cecelia rode a pony at age three at a school carnival, and she never really stopped asking to ride horses after that.

“What I thought was a fun summer lesson has turned into a lifestyle. Cecelia has made the whole family fall in love with horses and horse showing,” says Katie.

After summer camp, Cecelia continued riding with Taylor Childers at Taylor Made Performance Horses, who Katie explains possesses a true gift for training and working with kids – an incredible experience to witness.

A Remarkable Team

Now partnered with Foxxy Impulse, a 2019 sorrel overo APHA and AQHA mare, Cecelia continually sets goals for herself with “Foxxy,” and her mom reports that showing the mare really gave her the confidence to shoot for the stars.  “Foxxy has really pushed Cece to be a dedicated rider.”

Already inspired by the many talented teenage girls at Taylor Made working for what they want, Cecelia’s ears perked up when she heard them discussing the APHA World Show.  She said, “MOM, I GOTTA GO!”

Cecelia met the challenge head-on in her usual way, and Bake Sale Wednesdays came to fruition. With the help of her family and Aunt Shi, Cecelia applying her seemingly endless work ethic to raise money to show Youth Walk Trot 5-10 All Around Events with Foxxy this summer.

Bake Sale Details

“We are delivering to our local hometown area of New Smyrna, Port Orange, and Daytona area because it’s important to Cecelia to personally deliver her orders and not cut into riding time too much.”

She says people not in the area can donate without an order, and can also donate their delivery to someone else.

Facebook messages can be sent to Katie Kennedy-Bischoff for orders.

Donations can be sent via Venmo @Katherine-Bischoff-2 or can mail checks to:

5131 S Ridgewood Ave., Suite C. Port Orange, FL 32127

More Than Just A Bake Sale

For one ten-year-old girl and her family, the bake sale is more than just a fundraiser, however. It represents exactly what the horse industry has been wishing for and cultivating.

“I think it’s cool to know that we as a family have no background or experience with horses. If I am completely honest, I was scared of horses and was nervous of the dangers of Cecelia being an equestrian,” admits Katie.

Now, thanks to Cecelia and the Taylor Made program, Katie has vastly expanded her knowledge and also truly loves the sport and the experience, and most importantly, the animals.

“Cecelia’s work ethic and pure love and dedication has changed our entire family. We are a horse show family. Cecelia has a 14-year-old brother (Blake) who has become her right-hand man for show weekends- it’s incredible to watch both my kids bond and for our entire family to get to enjoy this together,” she explains. “We are all grateful for Taylor and the horse community she has worked so hard to build.”
