A big congratulations is in order for AQHA and APHA amateur exhibitor, Kaye-Nell Ivins-Ochetto and multi-breed judge, Michael Ochetto, following the news that they are expecting! We send our love to Kaye and Michael, who will be welcoming a new addition to the family in the summer of 2019.

Today’s EC Photo of the Day comes from Jim Dudley Quarter Horses in Columbia, Missouri. Despite the 17+ inches of snow they’ve received lately, it’s still business as usual on the farm! Thankfully this AQHA, APHA, NRHA, and NSBA judge has a sense of humor!

“I will never forget the moments we shared. Long hikes together, galloping through the canyons. Feeding her cookies. She will forever be a part of me. I am so very sad. But I wish for your pain to end, and the gates of heaven to open for you. I love you. Girl, where do you think you’re goin?”

Since that time, a fundraising account has been set up on Facebook and a whopping $12,865 has been raised so far.

Today’s EC Photo of the Day comes from a new youth-turned-amateur competitor, Kacie Scharf, who celebrated her birthday on January 10th. Kacie certainly has a lot to look forward to in 2019 with UF A Certain Star, Congress Champion, two-time Reserve Congress Champion, AQHYA Reserve World Champion, AQHA bronze trophy winner, NSBA Reserve World Champion, and NSBA bronze trophy winner. But, not before enjoying some tropical fun with The Equine Chronicle!
