AQHA recently announced the decision to raise multiple fees that will go into effect January 1st, 2018. In addition to membership fees, other fees that will be affected include registration fees, certificate fees, breeding permit fees, lease fees, embryo transfer enrollment fees, show enrollment fees and more.

The new arena plans include two show rings measuring 140’ X 240’ that can also be utilized as warm up arenas for the two Grand Prix arenas measuring 250’ X 350’. Dr. Judy Downer, the Equine Program Manager at College of Central Florida and USEF “R” Judge is also looking forward to the new plans, “I am very excited for the new Martin Collins arenas coming to the Florida Horse Park. This state-of-the-art footing is fabulous for the horses and having an additional arena will expand horse show capacity for the Park.

“The Congress is very excited about a major change Schneiders is offering as our official jacket sponsor. Exhibitors now will have the opportunity to personalize their jackets plus add additional winner’s patches to highlight their multiple successes,” said Dr. Scott Myers, CEO of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association.

The American Quarter Horse Association will host its first online ring steward education seminar December 11. Top AQHA ring stewards Gale Little, Tracey Hatakeyama and Bobbie Walton will teach the webinar.

Brynn Tyler (9), Isabella Barber (11), Laura Larmon (12), Aurianna Hollister (13), and Bethany Tyler (18) of the Eastern Mountain Ranch Horse Association (EMRHA) raised the more than $2,000 they needed to make a weekend trip to Columbus just to experience the magic of the Cutting and Reining events.

At the APHA World Championship Show, the program narrowed its focus to assist therapeutic barns affected by Hurricane Harvey; many of South Texas barns lost everything during the storm.
