The Solid Gold Futurity is holding the all breed Futurity Series in conjunction with the Missouri Quarter Horse Association’s Gateway Classic AQHA Show (six judges) May 21-24, 2020 at Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Effective April 1, 2020, the American Quarter Horse Association will no longer accept checks drawn on Canadian banks for payment of services from Canadian customers. This policy change aligns with international policies regarding acceptable forms of payment; AQHA does not accept checks from any international country drawn on a foreign bank account.

Each year, AQHA members submit rule-change proposals by December 31. To get an item on a committee’s agenda, members fill out a form and submit it to AQHA by the deadline. Once the rule change proposal is submitted, it is sent to the appropriate standing committee.

Are you feeling lucky? The pattern book is now online for the Indiana Quarter horse Association Shamrock Shuffle that’s scheduled to take place March 4-8 in Cloverdale, IN. The event will be AQHA, NSBA, IQHA, and IKI approved with five sets of points. Judges for the show will be Buddy Fisher, Eric Petersen, Jeffrey Pait, Nancy-Sue Ryan, GiGi Bailey, Glenn Wells, and Manita Defoor.

In 2019, DQHA engaged in the unauthorized collection of genetic data from AQHA for nearly 600 registered horses. Working as a partner in good faith, AQHA offered DQHA the opportunity to enter into a retroactive data-share agreement to agree to specific authorized use and protection of this AQHA data and to allow DQHA to correct breaches of its contractual obligations as an AQHA affiliate. A data-share agreement outlines the affiliate’s authorized use of the data, data laws within that specific country and the affiliate’s commitment to store the data appropriately. AQHA’s goal in offering the opportunity for DQHA to enter into a retroactive data-share agreement was to both protect the data in question and maintain a multi-decade relationship with DQHA in alignment with its obligations as an AQHA affiliate.

L1 Novice classes will be offered in both amateur and youth divisions of Horsemanship, Hunt Seat Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, Ranch Riding, Showmanship, Trail, and Western Pleasure.

The North Carolina Quarter Horse Association Spring Tarheel Classic will boast a new schedule on new dates with new show management this year. The show will take place April 24-26 with five complete shows that are AQHA, NSBA, NCQHA, and NRCHA approved. Cattle classes will take place April 24-26 in Sanford, NC.

AQHA staff will be available during the vendor trade show hours during the first weekend of Sun Circuit. They will be assisting members with Registrations, Transfers, Memberships, and researching existing work.
