In May, the AQHA Judges and Executive committees voted to remove Rule SHW910.12: “A judge shall accept mandatory retirement at age 75.” For recertification, these individuals were required to make scores above 75 percent on video judging and above 80 percent on the rulebook exam.

Amateur Exhibitor, Nicole Lynn, from Smock, PA competes with her two horses, Don’t Teez the Kat and Kelleys Escape. She trains with Alexandra and Eddie Falk. On Sunday, when Nicole returned to her stall to get her horse ready for a class, she was surprised to find her boyfriend of two years, Dustin Lerda (who was supposed to be working) in the stall on one knee.

The Reserve Champion in the class was Kelley Stone with Inferno for Rigo and Jill Alvarado. Third place was Ted Turner with Don’t Raak My World for Tammy and Gary Raak.
Continue reading …The new solid Paint-bred awards showcase the impact of grassroots members; the champion and reserve champion awards in the Open and Amateur solid Paint-bred divisions are courtesy of sponsorship fundraising efforts by the Facebook group, “Rock Solid,” an alliance of solid Paint-bred supporters dedicated to increasing participation and recognition of solid Paints at all levels of APHA shows. The high-point winner in both divisions will receive a Blue Ribbon Custom Tack headstall, and the divisions’ reserve champions will receive a Big D fleece cooler.

– It is OK to send this entry form separately, even if you have already sent in other entries.
– There’s no need to send a second stall form if one has already been sent.
With an award budget of well over $150,000, awards will be abundant during the show. They include: jackets from Tioga Territory for class champions (with five or more entries), medallions for 1st-6th place in each class, Gist Silversmith custom belt buckles and Kensington Protective Products for high point winners. Scholarships will also be given this year to high point overall youth winners within each breed.
