“Part of our calling as APHA members is to remember the past and honor those who have made today’s APHA possible,” Executive Director Billy Smith said. “The honorees of the 2015 Hall of Fame class have certainly helped make APHA the world-class association it is today.”

Once-in-a-lifetime might be the best way to describe Expensive Hobby, who passed away in 2003. The buckskin Quarter Horse was a four-time AQHA Champion, and was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 2007. Expensive Hobby and Dunning won the NRHA Open Reining at the AQHA All American Quarter Horse Congress, and Expensive Hobby held AQHA Superiors in reining, working cow horse, and cutting. The famed Quarter Horse is forever eternalized as a Breyer model.

In 2015 alone, the Breeders’ Trust program pumped more than $578,000 in to the Paint Horse industry; Breeders’ Trust-nominated horses earned a total of 73,729 points worth $7.85 each—a .5 percent increase over 2014.

The Platinum Breeders’ Futurity is an elite weanling halter futurity that takes place at the APHA World Championship Show, and starting in 2016, it will be exclusively for Non-Pro exhibitors. It’s designed to showcase the offspring of APHA Breeders’ Trust-subscribed stallions and the mares bred to these stallions.

The Youth World Championship Show takes place ​June 27–July 9 in Fort Worth, Texas. Youth World Show classes will run Jun 28–July 6, with a supplemental event held July 7–9; additional details on this supplemental event will be released at a later date.
