The Executive Committee approved a recommendation from the Western Dressage Task Force to adopt western dressage as an AQHA-recognized discipline in 2018. The Executive committee also approved the use of task forces to investigate the health of the hunter division, review of the show leveling system and the viability of a special-event rodeo held in conjunction with the Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.

In special recognition of those Non-Pro (Amateurs) who breed, own and show their Paints, the 2016 World Show will include three new WCHA Amateur Owner-Breeder-Exhibitor weanling halter classes. Exhibitors at the 2016 Nutrena East AQHA Level 1 Championships shined their boots and dusted off their hats for the first day of competition yesterday at the Gov. James B. Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina. The show kicked off at 8 a.m. with Level 1 youth working hunter.
