Exhibitors and horse owners must reside in Europe to be eligible for the Paint Horse Championship classes, which are selected by show management. The European Paint Horse Championship was the largest APHA show last year excluding the APHA World Show.
Continue reading …Opening the day at the 2017 NRHA (National Reining Horse Association) Derby was the $2,000-added Non Pro Show 1 class run concurrently with the $1,000-added Intermediate Non Pro, the $500-added Limited Non Pro, and the $500-added Prime Time Non Pro. Melissa Wigen of Ogden, Utah, rode her 2007 gelding, Dunit In Wranglers (Starlights Wrangler x A Bueno Poco Dunit), to a 143.5 score as well as the $2,000-added Non Pro title.
Continue reading …The 2017 Wild Card Reining Challenge and Tamarack Ranch 4-Year-Old Futurity at the incredible South Point Arena, Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada marked a successful second year when it increased an overall 85%. That large jump wasn’t quite expected, but was a huge blessing and an indication that this new event is being welcomed with open arms by the reining community.

Continue reading …“Having ended up the #2 APHA USA show in 2016, the support of our exhibitors and owners warranted our expansion of the classes we are offering this year,” says Congress Chair Casey West. “We have contracted additional judges to make this happen. Of significance are the Ranch classes, Ranch Trail, Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Riding and Ranch Reining, offered for regular registry and Solid Paint Bred horses, Youth, Amateur and Open exhibitors. This block of classes will take place in the Mustang Arena, Friday, August 4, and will be judged by eight judges.”
