Continue reading …Auburn went 4-1 in Horsemanship to kick off the meet. Sophomore Kara Kaufmann opened up the team points with a 75-72.5 win over Quinn Brandt. Redshirt junior Kelsey Jung and freshman Deanna Green each earned their eighth win of the year as Jung topped Madison Thiel, 72-70.5, and Green bested Megan Overberg, 75.5-72. Green, of Pilot Point, Texas, was awarded her fifth Most Outstanding Performer honor of the season for her ride.

Occasionally, a meeting may move into a “committee members only” session per direction of the committee or chairperson, and only committee members are allowed in the room at that time.

This class is being sponsored by Barbie Evans and Bunting Performance Horses. Also returning in 2018 is the $500 added money NSBA 3/4-Year-Old Open and Non Pro Western Pleasure and Open and Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle classes. In addition, Ranch Riding, Youth/Adult Walk Trot, and Rookie classes are also on the schedule.
Continue reading …Clarify the law so that both a quarter horse and the quarter horse race are BOTH registered with the AQHA. FQHRA’s position on current pari-mutuels is simple: just follow the law. If a quarter horse track has a permit to run 40 days of horse races, then they should be required to run the appropriate number of live races and not be rewarded with the ability to have card rooms or slot machines without following the intent and spirit of the law.
