
The 2018 Don Burt Professional Horseman of the Year is Gil Galyean of Purcell, Oklahoma. Galyean has served AQHA in a number of capacities, being a member of numerous committees, including the AQHA Animal Welfare Commission, AQHA Professional Horseman’s Committee and the AQHA Show Violations Hearing Committee. While serving AQHA, Galyean also served as a past president of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association and National Snaffle Bit Association, and is currently a director-at-large for OkQHA.

When Hailey Kinsel rocked the third barrel, every fan’s heart dropped. When it reset without falling, all of AT&T Stadium erupted. The 2018 world champion Hailey Kinsel continues to be unstoppable. She and her partner SISTER won The American for a second time, finishing the shootout round with a time of 14.217. In 2016 she split the million and this year she won $100,000.
