During 2020, the showing industry overcame significant challenges because of shows being cancelled or rescheduled due to the worldwide pandemic. The Mustangs tied things up in Horsemanship. Mallory Vroegh defeated Sara Lewis 220-209 to close the gap to one (3-2). Georgia’s Leah Anderson upended Nya Kearns 221-218.5 as the Bulldogs led 4-2. Aubrey Alderman and Megan Waldron both won their points to tie up the meet 4-4 at the halfway mark.

NSBA World Show Qualification Details

Qualifying is done through participation in each class at Dual Approved events or Special Events. In the Open classes, the horse, and in the Amateur and Youth classes, the horse and rider, will be required to participate in the corresponding Dual Approved class a minimum of 5 times within the qualifying period of May 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021. Those who are not qualified may enter with an additional $150 qualification fee per class. First entry deadline is July 1, 2021.

2021 ApHC World Show Waives All Qualifying Requirements

During their annual Spring meeting Saturday, April 10, the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) Board of Directors voted unanimously to waive all qualifying requirements for the 2021 World Championship Appaloosa Show, scheduled to be held October 29 – November 6 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The decision was made as a result of ongoing concerns and restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NSBA Announces Creation of Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund

The start-up costs for the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund will be offset by the auction of Scott’s custom Harris Saddle, which was donated by her daughter, Nancy Ditty. The effort is coordinated with Nancy’s involvement, the NSBA Foundation and the 2021 Youth Board of Directors. Ditty’s generous donation will help the newly created scholarship on the pathway towards commemorating Susan Scott’s contributions to the industry and carrying her legacy forward to future generations. This donation was an important milestone toward the goal of establishing the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the NSBA Foundation has high hopes of additional pledges from new and existing members supporting the program for years to come.
