Breeders Halter Futurity Important December 1st Deadlines

The Breeders Halter Futurity Board of Directors is excited to tell you that our 2023 event was better than ever!!! We are so appreciative of everyone who helped make the BHF what it is today. THANK YOU TO OUR STALLION OWNERS, MARE OWNERS, FOAL OWNERS, EXHIBITORS, TRAINERS, SPONSORS, JUDGES, STAFF, AND SPECTATORS.
As we reflect on our event, it is important to mention:
- The addition of Non Pro Class within a Class to our Mare Power and Yearling Classes paid out additional monies to our Non Pro Exhibitors.
- Mare Power Enrollments were up in 2023 so we added more money to the Mare Power Payouts. In addition, June Rhea donated an additional $4,000 to each Mare Power Class. The payouts in these classes were fabulous.
- We revamped our Payouts to include 10% for the Breeder and 10% to the Stallion Owner. Many people were pleasantly surprised by the checks they received.
EXCITING THINGS AHEAD IN 2024:
**DIY Criteria has changed. We have eliminated the rule whereby you are ineligible to participate in the DIY if you have won a BHF Weanling or Yearling Class.
**If you win a BHF Amateur Class or BHF Color Division Amateur Class and you are the breeder of that horse, you are able to show in the same class the following year. If you are not the breeder of the horse, you are ineligible to show in that class the following year.
**Once again, we will be offering the Yearling Longe Line at our 2024 event.
REMINDERS:
**BHF Stallion Nominations for 2024 are due December 1, 2023.
**Mare Power Enrollments for 2024 are due:
By December 1, 2023 = $350 per mare
December 2 – 31, 2023 = $700 per mare
NO ENROLLMENTS AFTER DECEMBER 31, 2023
If you enroll 4 mares, there is no charge for the 5th mare.
Remember that Mare Power Classes are divided into Jr./Sr.
**BHF Dates for 2024 are tentatively scheduled for September 10 – 14, 2024 in Des Moines, Iowa.
**The BHF Survey will be emailed to all owners of horses who exhibited at our 2023 event. These will be emailed on December 1st and you must respond by December 15th. Your help in choosing our 2024 BHF Judges is greatly appreciated.
