That’s a wrap on the 2022 Nutrena AQHA East Level 1 Championships! AQHA exhibitors from 40 states and two Canadian provinces competed for 184 championship titles at the largest Nutrena AQHA Level 1 Championships in AQHA history. The Nutrena AQHA East Level 1 Championships was April 27 – May 1 at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio.

Well over 800 exhibitors and horses competed in western, English and halter classes, totaling 4,831 entries in these events. A record 555 exhibitors were first-time Level 1 Championships participants. Competitors vied for top honors across a full slate of Level 1, Rookie and walk-trot classes, and more than $100,000 in purse and prizes, paid out at the show. AQHA also presented the top end-of-show awards to the all-around and high-point award winners. Read more about the all-around and high-point winners. Exhibitors placing top 15 in the core Level 1 classes earned invitations to compete in the inaugural Champion of Champions at their respective world shows.

During the show, AQHA Professional Horsemen volunteered their time to give six free Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by Nutrena. These clinics gave exhibitors and spectators the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a specific class or pattern in Level 1 competition. Thanks to the generosity of the Ride the Pattern clinics attendees, the Professional Horsemen Endowment Fund raised nearly $2,500 in donations.
