Stars shine bright, just like interns who join the APHA team to learn the skills it takes to run a leading horse registry. APHA’s newest star is Amy Olson, who joins us for the Spring 2022 session.

Amy grew up in Wyoming, and she received her Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural communications with a minor in agricultural economics from the University of Wyoming in May 2020. Then it was on to Laramie County Community College to complete their equine training program; she graduated in May 2021. Amy was an active competitor on both schools’ ranch horse versatility teams with her horse, Cats Red Robin (QH).

Although she doesn’t currently own a Paint, Amy hopes to someday add one to her herd and compete in APHA’s Chrome Cash classes at National Reined Cow Horse Association events.

Amy is excited to gain valuable experience at APHA and use it to help the horse community grow.

“I thought the APHA internship would be the perfect way to get my foot in the door of a major equine association and learn as much as possible, and help me understand more about a segment of the horse community I have not yet explored,” Amy said.
