APHA/WCHA Halter Million- A Million Reasons to Head to Fort Worth in September 2022

The APHA/WCHA Halter Million—formerly the Lone Star Gathering—will feature a one-stop shop for exciting competition for Paint Horse halter exhibitors, featuring all APHA world championship and Breeders’ Futurity halter classes, as well as the World Conformation Horse Association’s Breeder’s Championship and Big Money Halter Futurities. All told, the September 2022 event will feature payouts worth more than $1 million to halter exhibitors.

After a successful 2021 show and positive feedback from this year’s participants, the World Show Advisory Committee recommended moving all APHA world championship halter events—excluding performance halter and color classes—to the APHA/WCHA Halter Million; the APHA Board of Directors recently approved their recommendation.
Benefits:
- Hosts all Open/Amateur/Youth world championship & Breeders’ Futurity halter classes (all ages) at one event, excluding performance halter and color classes. Open/Amateur/Youth world championship performance halter and color classes will take place in the summer with the remainder of the APHA World Show classes.
- Reduces cost for exhibitors, especially families who want to show together across halter divisions.
- Preserves and expands APHA’s partnership with WCHA Breeder’s Championship & Big Money Halter Futurities, including cost-sharing and revenue-generation opportunities.
- Creates a true World Championship Show atmosphere and prestige for the APHA halter industry.
- Positively impacts the event schedule for the summer APHA World Show.
