Competitors, mark your calendars: two prestigious events are slated to shake up the Paint Horse community in 2019! Two APHA National Championship shows will debut in the new year, featuring an Eastern and Western championship event.
Sponsored by the American Paint Horse Association, the APHA National Championships will each be four-judge shows offering APHA points and national championship titles. Qualifying is not required.
“We are excited to present this new slate of shows for APHA members and provide more top-level competition opportunities for Paint lovers in different areas of the country,” Senior Director of APHA Events Holly Slaughter said. “Just like our APHA World Shows, our National Championships are designed to be exhibitor-friendly, fun and full of prizes; these shows are sure to be can’t-miss events of the year.”

APHA Eastern National Championship

The inaugural APHA Eastern National Championship is set for March 21–24 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia.
Additional information on show management, schedule and more will be announced shortly.

APHA Western National Championship

The inaugural APHA Western National Championship Show is scheduled for October 16–19 at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The show will be managed by Southwest Show Management / Carolyn Dobbins. Carolyn Dobbins and her team manage the Goldmine Circuit, an all-breed show that couples with APHA-approved classes to help bridge the gap between open and breed association events. Carolyn’s team is also currently working with the Arizona Paint Horse Club. Carolyn was named 2016 APHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year.

In addition to the Western National Championship excitement, the Silver State Paint Horse Club has partnered with APHA to host a two-judge Youth/Amateur show on October 16, just prior to the start of the Western National Championship Show.
