When Anthony Montes saw When N Where for the first time as a yearling, he says he became obsessed with “Levi.”
“There was just something about him that just caught my eye, and I couldn’t stop talking about him,” he explains. The JVM Partnership was formed, and he reveals, it has been a fun journey watching him grow, mature, and succeed ever since.
That journey for the 2020 sorrel stallion by VS Code Red and out of One Hot Mouse (by One Hot Krymsun) has included Congress Championships as well as Multiple AQHA, NSBA & APHA World Championships.
The most recent addition to his repertoire happened Saturday night at the 2026 APHA World Championship Show, taking a unanimous win in the 4-Year-Old & Older Western Pleasure Sweepstakes and earning a check for $1250.
When asked what everyone should know about him, Anthony says Levi is an exceptional animal. “He’s crazy good-minded. We collected him on Tuesday, put him on the trailer, went to a horse show and got here the morning of Saturday, prepared him, and showed him. One thing I love about him is every time he goes in the arena, his expression’s great and he just flows and stands out. He’s just such a beautiful, willing, and kind, kind animal.”
Levi’s first foal crop is on the ground, and his breeding business is booming, so Anthony had not shown him since January. Next up for the team is the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show!
When N Where was bred by Voge Quarter Horses, is owned by JVM Partnership of Aubrey, Texas, and during breeding season, he stands at Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses.
