Nearly 800 of the nation’s leading middle school and high school equestrian athletes will travel from across the United States and converge in Harrisburg to compete for top honors in Hunt Seat, Western and Dressage classes, championship titles and collegiate scholarships. Of the 1,458 IEA high school and middle school teams from eleven zones across the country, over 600 teams will be represented at this year’s celebratory event.

Continue reading …Following in the theme of celebrating youth exhibitors, there were plenty of fun events on the schedule, like the Youth Boot Race on Friday, Youth Ride A Buck on Saturday, and Youth Sack Race on Sunday. The highlight of the show was the Youth Scholarship Challenge, which was open to all youth exhibitors for no cost. The format allowed for one horse and one rider combination to declare three performance classes and one halter class to count for points.

When we pass rules that we think are going to force someone to do something, it often backfires and sends them somewhere else.
