The No. 6 Bears and No. 11 South Carolina each scored 583.5 points in the opening round of the Horsemanship bracket at the NCEA Championship, but Baylor’s 3-1 advantage in matchups won pushed the team to the quarterfinals. Baylor gets No. 3 Texas A&M on Friday after the Aggies beat No. 14 West Texas A&M 4-0.

AQHA has adjusted its records to reflect the disqualifications and is notifying those exhibitors whose horses moved up in the placings as a result of such disqualifications. AQHA has reciprocity agreements with a number of other equine associations for animal welfare, medication and unsportsmanlike conduct related violations. This means that when AQHA suspends people or horses, these people and/or horses are also suspended from the groups that have a reciprocity agreement with AQHA.

It has been shown that supplementation for the last 4 weeks of pregnancy with vitamin E at 2,500 IU/day (over 3X the current recommendation for late pregnancy in a 500 kg mare) resulted in higher vitamin E levels in the mares, milk and foals, as well as higher antibody levels in milk and the foal’s blood.

Appropriately, the champion and recipient of the big check and a crystal trophy cup was Rusty Green with Florida Georgia Line for Ruth Marie Rowe. The Reserve Champion and recipient of $280 was Jay Starnes with Million To 1 for Nettie Olsen. Third was Cleve Wells with Mister White for Linda Ball Sargent, winning $210.
