We had 55 items to give away, and it was very well received,” she says. “My mission, as photographer, for this show, was to showcase the reason why we show- the horse. Between the great High Point All Around awards, the raffle, and the good numbers showing, it was a great show for all. “

He raised, showed and bred American Quarter Horses, was an AQHA director emeritus and a member of the AQHA Horseback Riding Program. He was past president and honorary vice president of the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association, and was inducted in the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in December 2015. He is a member emeritus of the Pikes Peak Range Riders and a member of the Southern Colorado Cutting Horse Association.

Hanson grew up with horses her entire life, learning from her father, Don Blazer. She competed as a youth and fell in love with the American Quarter Horse. She was drawn to their athleticism and heart. Hanson showed in the open division as a youth, and earned the title of AQHA reserve world champion in western riding in 1988 aboard the mare Lo Lindo.
