Paint Cong 2017 update22017 Paint Horse Congress

Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square

Wednesday, August 2nd- Sunday, August 6

Sponsored by the Kansas Pant Horse Association

Per Paint Congress Chair, Casey West, “We are gearing up for another successful Paint Horse Congress and have expanded our class offering to include a full slate of Solid Paint Bred classes, Speed Event classes, and Over Fences classes. These are offered for Youth, Amateur and Open exhibitors. As in the past, we are again offering a large number of NSBA dual approved classes. Having ended up as the #2 APHA USA show in 2016, the support of our exhibitors and owners warranted this expansion, so we hope they will take advantage of these new classes.”

Returning to the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the event will take place on Wednesday, August 2 – Sunday, August 6.

Given the expansion of classes and in the interest of time, the number of judges has increased to include ancillary judges for Over Fences, Speed and Ranch/Reining classes.

“The All American Appaloosa Congress is being held in the Super Duty arena during the Paint Congress and will be staging the APHA Over Fences and Speed events,” says Congress Show Manager Karen Kennedy. “Ancillary judges will handle these classes.  A significant change for the Ranch classes is the ability to show under eight  judges on Friday in the Mustang Arena. Having the Appaloosa Congress at the same time as the Paint Congress gives trainers and owners an opportunity to bring and show both breeds.”

Judging assignments:

Two 4-Judge PORs – 8 Judges – include: Elizabeth Baker, Jodi Finkenbinder, Clint Fullerton, Bob Kail, John Boxell, David Denniston, Meri McKillips-Lemay and Richard Spinks.

Ancillary judges for Ranch and reining classes include Cindy Chilton-Moore, Keith Longacre, Nikki Longacre and Trisha Shorten-Armstrong.

Ancillary judges for Over Fences/Speed events are Marvin Kapushion, Sue Kapushion, Michael Ochetto and Tina White.
