On the cover, they honor the incredible Sgt. Reckless, who is considered the greatest equine war hero in American history. As a member of the United States Marine Corps 1st Division, 5th Regiment, she served during the Korean War transporting ammunition for the Recoilless Rifle Company. She played an integral part in the Marine’s history during the battle of Outpost Vegas and was decorated with two Purple Hearts. Visitors to the World Equestrian Center can see her monument at the center of the grand plaza.
Spend 24 hours with super groom, Dani Denito, who is based at Always Faithful Equestrian Club in Mettawa, Illinois. Admire Dani’s commitment to the health, happiness, and amazing turnout of each of the horses in his care.
Meet Sara Meier of Punchtown Stables in Lexington, Kentucky, who rebuilt her facility after a devastating fire. Named for Punchestown Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland, the stable is beautifully situated with gorgeous rings and paddocks that fit perfectly within the rolling hills of Kentucky.
The Jr. Rider Focus lands on Aiden Udelson, a young man who loves to go fast and jump high. Aiden is the son of a professional rider and it is clear he has inherited a love for horses and showjumping.
Ric Owens of Roberts Design shares the inspiration for some of the most notable World Equestrian Center- Ocala landmarks, including The Equestrian Hotel, the Chapel, and each of the venues’ charming concept restaurants, bars and eateries.
