Unique LIFELINE Supplements Challenge Compares Two Horses Through Training Process

a42b171c-e1b3-42d8-a12f-121c5c2466afANKENY, IOWA – 7/28/2015 – There are several ways to gauge the performance level of horses during a training program. The simplest way is to put them in the show pen and let the scores tell the story. The LIFELINE Challenge horses, Cat and Abby, are now a few months in to their training program. Cat is only on LIFELINE Equine EliteTM performance supplements throughout the challenge while Abby is on a typical program of vitamin/mineral supplements, ulcer prevention medication and preventive joint injections.

Recently, at an AQHA Show in Winona, MN, Cat competed in the rapidly growing Ranch Riding class. Abby was not quite physically or mentally ready yet for this competition. The Ranch Riding class is extremely competitive, particularly for a 3- year old horse. Ranch Riding is a pattern class where the horse must demonstrate its ability to move like a working ranch horse outside the confines of an arena. The horse must move at a working pace at the direction of the rider using light contact. Responsiveness and quality of movement are the primary considerations when judging the horse during pattern maneuvers. The required maneuvers include the walk, jog and lope in both directions, the extended jog and lope in at least one direction, as well as stops and turns. Optional maneuvers may include a side pass, lead change, 360° turns and more.

Cat scored well enough to qualify him for the 2015 AQHA World Championship show in Junior Ranch Riding. For a horse to be successful in this class, they need to be physically and mentally ready to be hauled and handle the pressures of competition. “When a performance horse is rigorously training and competing in high stakes events, it can experience immense stress,” says Monte Hamilton, Equine Sales Manager for APC, Inc. “That’s when BioThriveTM shines. Our serum- based bioactive proteins have been scientifically researched for more than 30 years and have shown consistent, repeatable results when animals are experiencing stress. Bioactive proteins are proven to ease the negative response from normal stress.” While this particular show may not be considered high stakes, it definitely proved Cat is on the path to success and has been able to handle the rigorous training so far.

At this point in the LIFELINE Challenge, Cat was physically and mentally ready for this competition while Abby was not. When comparing the readiness to compete and the results of the competition, Cat has shown that LIFELINE Equine Elite has helped him progress in the direction of success. The Challenge is off to an exciting start!
