StallWatch Portable Surveillance Oversees Saratoga Race Course For 150th Anniversary Season

Crowds of racing enthusiasts are expected at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, NY for their 150th season. StallWatch, the portable surveillance system for extra security and safety, will be in use throughout the 40-day Saratoga Race Course meeting, where more than 900,000 spectators passed through the turnstiles last season.

The 144th running of the Travers Stakes on August 24 is shaping up as a potential battle between Kentucky Derby winner Orb, Preakness winner Oxbow and Belmont winner Palace Malice. It would be the first matchup in the Travers of three Triple Crown race winners since 1982, and StallWatch will be there for these racing mega-superstars and all the other equine athletes at Saratoga.

“The New York Racing Association utilized StallWatch at the Belmont Stakes and again at the 150th anniversary season at Saratoga Race Course,” said Eric Wing, New York Racing Association Director of Communications and Media Relations. “The safety of the horses is of the utmost importance to us.”

Officials, owners, trainers and stable managers all acknowledge the benefits of the StallWatch system in the racing and horse show industries. StallWatch clients enjoy not only the convenience, but also the peace of mind the system provides.

“I’m a fan of StallWatch. We are able to monitor our barns from anywhere!” said Hall of Fame Trainer and 2013 Kentucky Derby Winner, Shug McGaughey about his own StallWatch system.
