Sarah Orsak and My Cowboy Cadillac Are Unanimous Winners in Novice Youth 14-18 Showmanship at 2013 AjPHA World Show

Sarah Orsak continued her winning ways today at the 2013 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show becoming the unanimous winner of the Novice Youth 14-18 Showmanship with her gelding, My Cowboy Cadillac. Just yesterday, Orsak and “Charlie” won the Novice Youth 14-18 Equitation, where they were almost unanimous with four firsts and a fifth.

Orsak and Charlie have been with their current trainer, Reid Thomas, for six months now.

“I’ve had Charlie for two years,” Orsak says. “I came here last year but never got called back to the finals or anything. This year was a big difference! I was hoping to just do the best I could do and get called back.”

In addition to the pair’s two world titles in Equitation and Showmanship, they also placed in the top five in Novice Youth 14-18 Hunter Under Saddle. Be sure to watch out for this dynamic duo returning this afternoon in the 14-18 Showmanship. Later on in the show Orsak will compete in Trail, Horsemanship, and Western Pleasure.

“I thought [my pattern] was great,” she says. “We’ve worked on his back for the past six months. It was perfect out there. I was really happy about that. When I was going up to the stop cone, I think I was a little bit off because it was hard to tell where you were supposed to stop. I just made it work with the walk to the judge. Reid told me to remember to smile, because most of the time I look pretty serious.”
