Yesterday, Bruner confirms the Open Trail pen saw 170 goes, which they ran by utilizing both sides of the Main Arena. Today, the Amateur and Youth Trail are underway, and she estimates 185 goes will be completed by the day’s end.

Countries select teams of four riders and an alternate to compete in the Youth World Games. Representatives from each team compete in horsemanship, hunt-seat equitation, showmanship and trail. Volunteer horses are drawn at random and riders have only 30-40 minutes to become acquainted with their mount before competing in their respective class.

On her personal blog, Uhlir announced the sponsorship and spoke briefly about what she hopes this opportunity will mean for the future of equestrian sport.

The Board received numerous comments from open competitors requesting that the first go-round start one day later to allow horses more time to settle in after being transported from home to Oklahoma City. The Board considered this request, along with a detailed study of the performance of horses competing on the first day.
