The fun kicked off on Wednesday, when competitors were encouraged to bid for lucky back number #777 with all proceeds to benefit the AQHA Foundation Crisis Fund. The high bidder was Nancy Chapman. The Lucky 7 Classic decided to match the bid, resulting in $2,200 raised for the Crisis Fund!

Young grasses are low fiber, very high protein and higher in rapidly fermentable carbohydrate fractions than more mature growths. This can lead to a variety of hind gut digestive upsets including bloating, varying degrees of manure softening/diarrhea, and in some cases colic. This can be avoided by careful introduction to the new grass.

AjPHA members Keoma Dunn and Gracie Thompson each received a $1,000 Farnam Breeders’ Trust Youth scholarship from APHA and Farnam Horse Products; additionally, an APHA regional club of their choosing each receives $500, courtesy of Farnam.
