Over 1700 Visit 6th Annual Highpoint Stallion Showcase and Open House

Photos of the event were provided by Kelbi Lyn Arrant, Tom Bacon, and Christi Christensen.

Each year, Highpoint Performance Horses owners Jason Martin and Charlie Cole, along with Breeding Manager Christi Christensen, open up their private facility in Pilot Point, Texas, to showcase their world class stallions and to share the exotic pets that reside there.  Their passion for all animals and for sharing them with others was evident due to the care shown at the event, which also offered food trucks, vendors, and a live band.

Last year, they hosted over 1200 visitors, and this year, it was even bigger.  “We had a great turnout with over 1700 people despite the weather,” says Jason Martin.

In addition, they added a one-of-a-kind tack sale this year, in part to prepare for their focus on a smaller population of clients.

Chandler Marks, owner of VS Flatline, took the opportunity to visit with mare owners and guests, since “Kobe” is one of the stallions standing at Highpoint.

Also on hand was Katie Van Slyke, the owner of VS Code Red, and a social media sensation who has 1.9 Million followers on her Facebook page alone, plus 615k followers on Instagram, and her videos on TikTok have gone viral.

Amateur Kelbi Lyn Arrant also was a first-time visitor, and her experience was topnotch.  “It was such a first class event; getting to get up and personal with so many industry leading stallions was such a fun experience. Everyone on the Highpoint staff was so informative and friendly, we had a total blast! And feeding Gerald the giraffe a cracker topped it all off!” she says.

Another side benefit to the event, Kelbi points out, was the impact on the local economy. She adds, “It brought so much business to the area that day! The tack stores and restaurants around here were all packed!”

Tom Bacon, owner of Fetch Pet Hotel and also known as the better half of trainer Shannon McCulloch Bacon, volunteers at the open house each year, so thanks to him, we have his photos!  Thank you also to Kelbi Lyn Arrant and to Christi Christensen for their photo contributions.
