One-Two Punch for Vivienne King in L1 Youth Western Riding 14-18
In the last class of the day in the Priefert Arena at South Point Arena & Equestrian Center, Vivienne King swept the top two spots in an admittedly difficult class: Level 1 Youth Western Riding 14-18.
Her champion was Mouse Trapped, a 2017 gelding by EXTREMELY HOT CHIPS and out of NUTHERMOUSENTHEHOUSE, and her Reserve was One Hot Sports Model, a 2009 gelding by ONE HOT INVITATION and out of SELECTION SO FINE.
Had she done anything like that before? “Definitely not at a show like this,” says Vivienne. “I went one and two on Sunday at the Pinnacle Circuit, and I was like, I want to do the exact same thing today. And honestly, both of them just gave me everything today, and I’m so grateful for them. Like, they’re just incredible. They’re really awesome.”
The two horses are very different, she reveals. “Filson (One Hot Sports Model) and Tater Tot (Mouse Trapped) are very different; Filson I would compare to a Cadillac and then Tater Tot is a Ferrari. They’re both just very incredibly talented in their own ways. So I’m just very blessed to be here and riding them and have the team that I have.”
Vivienne had 15 draws between the two rides, so she was grateful for the way the draws came out, as she is for everyone who supports her. “My mom, my sister, Clara, Charlotte, Allie, Addie, Joe, Brad, everyone. Literally, and my dad and my stepmom that I know I’m sure are watching me from afar. Literally everyone who has helped me to get to where I am, all the trainers. I’m just so blessed.”
