Not to be outdone by his young assistant, Taylor Luneack, who claimed a World Championship title in Weanling Stallions this morning, Olin Parker led Exact to a win in Yearling Stallions in the next class at the 2013 APHA World Show.

Exact is a colorful yearling stallion by AQHA stallion, My Intention, and out of Traditionsmistres Too. Horse owners, Jim and Georgia Snow, bred and raised Exact and own both the sire and dam.

“We raised him,” Georgia Snow says. “He won the APHA World last year. He won the Platinum Weanling Futurity here. We’ve not shown him all year long.”

“He’s a full brother to the horse that we sold Melinda Minnis that won the $100,000 [Breeders Halter] Futurity [Amateur 2-Year-Old Champion of Champions class]. His name is Intent. He’s his full brother.”

Snow made the decision not to show Exact in the Amateur portion of the class in order to give her full support to another one of her stallion’s offspring, My Te Intense. Snow was thrilled that owner and exhibitor, Karry Voss, was able to clinch the win in Amateur Yearling Stallions.

“I was going to show,” she says. “However, there was another lady who had a ‘Big Red.’ We try not to show against any babies by our stallion. It was perfect. Karry Voss won the Amateur, and that was her first World Champion. She’s really excited. We want them to have a good time as well!”

“Karry’s horse is double-registered. What’s really crazy is that we own the mother of her horse too. She just has a couple of spots and a bald face. However, Exact’s mother is loud-colored.”

Another My Intention offspring found itself in the winner’s circle this morning. In the prior class, Tim Finkenbinder led Intentional Design to a win in Weanling Geldings for owner Susan Brees. We spoke with Snow a bit about her Quarter Horse stallion’s unique ability to consistently throw colored offspring.

“During the first two years, he was 100% color,” she says. “One of the things that My Intention has, that we’ve really needed in our breeding program, is that he’s really short-backed, great-crouped, and pretty-hocked. Exact is really strong-backed.”

“Exact’s mother is bred back to My Intention for 2014. Exact and Intent were both April babies, so this year she’ll probably have a first of February baby. Not that he needs any help with size!”
