We all have a bucket list. Maybe yours has things like skydiving or taking a trip to an exotic place. I have always had one major item at the top of my bucket list: the National Finals Rodeo.
Well, life got the best of us. Chemo treatments for my mom, Tona, trying to maintain a normal life for my little brother, Ayden, and attending horse shows (I show in amateur all-around with my mare, Rageous Blaze). It was crazy chaos.
Finally, it seemed as if normal life (is there is such a thing for horse show people?) was returning. Then, Hurricane Harvey hit. We came out of that tragedy and did what my family does best-pull together and help one another. Afterwards, I decided there was no time like the present to pursue my number one bucket list item.
When my mom’s birthday came around in August, what did she get? Tickets to the NFR! During my birthday in October? A hotel room during the NFR! During my sister Amber’s birthday in November? Our plane tickets to VEGAS! Our fate had been sealed! We are FINALLY headed to the NFR to check the top item off my bucket list!

The cowboys, the shows, the fashion, the concerts, the shopping…. Did I mention the FASHION?! I can’t wait to soak it all in, and guess what? You lucky EquineChronicle.com readers get to come along on this bucket list dream with my family and me! So load up and lock down, because I am BEYOND excited to start….. but not nearly as excited as I was for my 5 am flight today!
