One might say Kent Ray Taylor of Mesa, Arizona, has a few unicorns in his barn.  Now he’s made it the supremely ultimate band of four unicorns with the addition of the 2017 mare AQHA/APHA “Never Have I Ever” to make it into the definitive list:

  • Snap It Send It
  • Snippety Snap
  • Not Done Loping
  • Never Have I Ever

Kent Ray explains he’s very excited to acquire Never Have I Ever, aka Madonna, a mare who has an impressive resume she’s been building since she was a two-year-old.  For her past owner, Dakota Andrie of Franklinville, New Jersey, Madonna proved she possessed the ability to capture wins on major circuits in youth and open divisions at Sun Circuit, APHA World, AQHYA World, NSBA World, Congress, and AQHA World, racking up thousands of earnings and hundreds of points doing what she does best, Western Pleasure.

By No Doubt Im Lazy and out of A Certain Illusion (by Certain Potential) and bred by Rawlings Enterprises LLC of Summerton, South Carolina, Madonna was also one of the more recent horses to help boost No Doubt Im Lazy to his 2021 title of Million Dollar Sire.

Kent Ray’s acquisition of Never Have I Ever came on the heels of Dana Andrie, Dakota’s mother, contacting Kent Ray to see if he would consider selling Bailee, Snap It Send It, he explains.  “Dana contacted me back in December and asked me if I would consider selling Bailee because Dakota really wanted to start doing all-around events.  I told her no, that I really wasn’t considering doing that, but I was flattered that she inquired,” he says.

He then asked what their plans were for Madonna because he would love to own her. “So after the breeding was completed and Madonna had supplied the embryo she needed to, I acquired her,” he reveals.  “Dakota, Dana and I are very excited!”

Kent Ray says Madonna has been off for several months at the breeding barn, so she’s a little out of shape, but when she is ready, they will make their debut together.  “I plan on showing Madonna in the Select Western Pleasure and the Junior Western Pleasure, then adding the Western Riding and the Trail to her class load next year.”

I am blessed and thankful to Dana and Dakota, Kent Ray explains, “and I am very excited to add Madonna to my band of unicorns.”
