Since its founding in 1968, the Kaysinger Horse Show Circuit has become a cornerstone of the equestrian community in the Midwest. Hosting four multi-day shows each year at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO, the circuit spans two arenas and draws exhibitors from Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Its enduring popularity is rooted not only in its competitive offerings but also in the inclusive, family-oriented culture that has defined the circuit for more than five decades.
In the 2025 season, Kaysinger consistently attracted 260–300 stalls per show and over 700 class entries each weekend, with some events surpassing even those impressive numbers.
The year’s culminating event, the Missouri Showdown, was a three-day spectacle featuring 1,440 entries, 203 riders, 180 horses, and 33 trainers, all supported by six officers, four judges, and dedicated volunteers. Exhibitors of all ages and experience levels compete across a wide variety of disciplines, from stock horse and ranch classes to gaited, saddle type, and utility horses, covering western, English, halter, and timed events.
The circuit’s success is built on organization and communication, welcoming culture, and continual program improvements. Scheduling is clear, entries are accessible online, and stall charts are published in advance. Officers and volunteers remain visible and approachable throughout each show, ensuring that questions are answered and exhibitors feel supported.
Kaysinger also emphasizes a family-friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Many exhibitors return year after year, bringing friends, family, and new participants with them. This sense of community extends beyond the competition ring, with traditions such as the Missouri Showdown welcome dinner featuring pizza and playful games like “trainer panty races,” “pen the tail on the donkey,” and Chuck-A-Duck — alongside horse-oriented events including helper showmanship, costume classes, and blind showmanship. Saturday’s “fancy” dinner, such as a taco bar, highlights the celebratory spirit of the weekend.
Program enhancements have also contributed to the circuit’s growth. Rotating judges, quality venues, and updated class offerings, informed by exhibitor feedback, help maintain a high standard of competition. Sponsorship support allows Kaysinger to offer awards, year-end prizes, and high-point incentives that ensure every participant finishes the season with a sense of accomplishment. The circuit remains committed to keeping events affordable and accessible, while simultaneously promoting youth development and engagement in the sport.
In addition, Kasinger’s loyal sponsors – all of them- serve an integral part of the circuit’s success, and for that, the Kasinger team expresses their complete gratitude.
