It’s time to get out your cell phones and video cameras and take videos of your favorite subjects:  no, not your main squeeze, your friends, or your kids . . . your horses!  Equine Affaire has just introduced the Horse Video Challenge, a contest in which you could win up to $500 for your home video of your horse, your friend’s horse, or just any horse or horses you can capture doing what horses do best:  being humorous and loveable horses.

Equine Affaire’s Horse Video Challenge will award cash prizes for the top-placing videos in two different video categories:  the funniest horse video and the most touching, emotionally- moving horse video. First place winners in each of the two Challenge categories will receive $500, second place winners will receive $300, third place winners will receive $200, and fourth place winners will receive $50.

Video submissions for the Challenge will be accepted through Friday, February 10, 2017, and the winners will be announced on March 24th (two weeks before the 2017 Equine Affaire in Columbus, OH.) The top-placing videos will be presented for event attendees to enjoy throughout the four days of Equine Affaire and will be showcased for the entertainment of horse lovers worldwide on equineaffaire.com, YouTube, and via Equine Affaire’s social media outlets.

Who Can Participate?  The Horse Video Challenge is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada. (The Challenge is void in Quebec, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories and possessions, and where prohibited or restricted by law.) Written parental consent is required for any entrant under 18 years of age in order for the minor’s video entry to be accepted.

How Will the Videos Be Judged?  Videos will be judged by the management of Equine Affaire, Inc. based on the degree to which they are found to be humorous…or found to be touching and emotionally moving.  An initial review of the videos will be conducted by the horse-owning staff of Equine Affaire, Inc. to ensure that the videos meet the requirements of the Challenge and to select the top 10 videos in each category. Those top 20 videos will then be reviewed by the senior management of Equine Affaire, Inc. which will select the winners by a majority vote.

How Do You Submit a Video to the Horse Video Challenge?  You may submit video(s) to the Horse Video Challenge by upload or mail. The submission deadline is February 10, 2017.  Mail entries must be received (not postmarked) by this date.

Detailed information on video length/content/format requirements, submission methods, contest rules and restrictions, prizes, and video entry forms is available at equineaffaire.com.  Click on either the Massachusetts or Ohio event and follow the “Participate” link to the Horse Video Challenge page.  You may also contact Karin Brennan at kbrennan@equineaffaire.com or (740) 845-0085 ext.112 for further information.
