Horseman, Mark Purdy, Has Passed

We are saddened to relay the news that Select competitor and longtime horseman, Mark Purdy, passed away yesterday. Just last week, Mark was at the Select World Show where special arrangements were made to allow him to accompany his mare into the ring in a Halter class as well as being honored during a special ceremony with a trophy to commemorate his achievement of qualifying her for the show this year.

His partner and friend, Jillene Overby, shared the following message indicating how happy he was to attend the show.

“Thank you to all his friends and horse show family that made last Thursday a great day at the AQHA Select World. He was so happy. He absolutely loved that horse so much.”

Our sincerest condolences go out to Mark’s friends and family during this difficult time.
