Georgia On My Mind Concludes With Banner Event in Conyers

The Georgia On My Mind horse show may not have seen perfect weather, with some describing all four seasons having taken place within 48 hours, but the turnout was exceptional nonetheless. The Georgia On My Mind is a joint partnership between the Horseman’s Quarter Horse Association of Georgia and the Georgia Quarter Horse Association that produces the Stock Show and the Pro Am circuits each year in Conyers, GA. This year’s event took place April 1-10 with the following judges:
Stock Show Pool: Debra Jones-Wright, Robin Swinderman-Mitchell, John Boxell, Mike Weaver, Michelle Tidwell, Valerie Kearns, Stacey Roberson, Will Knabenshue, Christa Baldwin, Amy Watkins, Karen Graham, and Lainie Deboer
Pro Am Pool: Stephen Stephens, Andrea Simons, Jennifer Goss, Tom Robertson, Brad Jewett, Robert Dehn, Doug Huls, Kerry Allen, Sharon Wellman, Lora Kneely-Thomas, Nancy-Sue Ryan, and Jerry Erickson
Among other benefits, like great prizes, added money, and plenty of points to be claimed, there was the ever popular Georgia Gold program with a $36,000 total purse! In order to be eligible for this added money, horses and riders must show in all three Georgia circuits: The Stock Show, The Pro Am, and The Big A. Classes for the program include 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, 3-Year-Old Limited Open Western Pleasure, and 3-Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle. In addition, there is a $5,000 bonus for each class for the highest point earning horse at the Big A.
