First Champions Named During Tom Powers Futurity

The 2019 Tom Powers Futurity kicked off June 26th to some stormy weather, but a little rain certainly didn’t put a damper on the competition that will take place throughout this week in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Nancy Ditty was at the lead of The Best Ticket (No Doubt Im Lazy X Best Ticket In Town) to win the Non-Pro Color Longe Line for Stanley and Susan Scott. The Reserve Champion was Jessica Wazny with Dun Lopin, by The Lopin Machine. Terry Robinson was third with Capitol Gain. Fourth was Donald Hagen with Extremely Hot Goji. Fifth was Danita Drake with Rock One Seven.

The Open Color Longe Line was won by Kenny Lakins with Best By Design (RL Best of Sudden X Shes Good N Sultry) for Brett and Heather Caplinger. Reserve was Jon Barry with The Best Ticket for Stanley and Susan Scott. Third was Alan Wood with Dun Lopin for Dennis & Karen Reifsnyder. Tying for fourth was Gavin Pope with Rock Paper Scizzors for Jillian Willem and Anthony Leier with Almost Moonlite for Melinda Reiss.

The Maturity Novice Novice Hunter Under Saddle was won by Andrea Passe with Duplicated In Iron for Zoey Schlanser. Second was Lisa Wilkes with Black Tie and Heels. Third was Natalie Anderson with Night Shades. Fourth was Grace Tachikawa with U Aint No Cowboy. Fifth was Judy Davis with Life Flight.

Farley McLendon was in the irons of Al Be Bleu (Allocate You Assets X BlueThru N Thru) to win 3-Year-Old Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle for Tali Terlizzi. Reserve was Trish Yamber with Hoos Initials for Edgehill Farm. Third was Melissa Thyfault with Love Matters Most for Jennifer D’Onofrio. Fourth was Sonnesa Gooding with All Me for Michelle and Sheila Bauer. Fifth was Jennifer Taufmann with Teachme Howto Dougie.

Laura Bracken rode Born Sophisticated (Sophistication Only X Coalminers Daughter) to win the Color Breed Non-Pro Western Pleasure. Pasley Puthoff rode VS Code Of Gold to win Two-Year-Old Color Western Pleasure for David and Tasha Winterfeld. Stephanie Armellini and Shootin The Breeze won the Three-Year-Old Limited Open Western Pleasure for Kathryn Frederick. The first go of the Maturity Non Pro Western Pleasure was won by Hillary Roberts with Johnnie On The Spot. Reserve was Sara Nimigan with Best Brew At The Bar. Third was Annette Miller with Moonrageous.
