EC Photo of the Day- Dreams Come True

14-year-old Melissa Burton experienced the culmination of three years of hard work over the weekend at the Tom Powers Christmas Challenge when she was named the Reserve Champion in The Equine Chronicle Super Sires 3-Year-Old Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure with It’s A Certain Thing.

“When she was twelve, she educated herself on what a good Western Pleasure horse looks like with conformation and movement and found her filly, It’s A Certain Thing, when she was a yearling. She begged to have her! Melissa taught ‘Grace’ basic ground manners, how to longe, be saddled, and bridled, and be ready for her first ride. Her dream is to become a horse trainer. She has been working with trainer Chase Barnes since then.”- Rachel Bosko
