Day 1 Results From 2014 Big Country QHA Spring Show, Waco, TX
Thanks to Mane Events Show Management we have results from the first day of competition at the 2014 Big Country QHA Spring Show in Waco, Texas. The BCQHA Show and Texas Amateur State Championship began yesterday and will continue through April 27th at the Extraco Event Center.
Judges for the show will be Gretchen Mathis, Jennifer Lynn Thompson, John Dean, Suzy Jeane, Tom McBeath, Tom Robertson, Rebecca Halvorson, and Tim Finkenbinder.
The show will consist of two triple judged events and a special event trail, western pleasure, horsemanship, and western riding. New for 2014 is the addition of National Quarter Horse League Huntfield Derby classes including a $500 Hunter Derby and $1,000 Trail Derby. Also, there will be Equitation Medal classes for both Amateur and Youth divisions.
Added money classes will include Western Pleasure classes with $1,500 added: #101 NSBA 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, #102 NSBA 3-Year-Old Non-Pro, and #103 NSBA Non Pro Maturity Western Pleasure. Those competing in futurity classes #101-103 will be entered for a Blue Ribbon Custom Tack drawing for a $400 gift certificate!
All breed classes will include Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Reining, Hunter Under Saddle and Working Hunter. Quarter Horses will also be able to show in these classes.
Leveling will be applied to Amateur, Amateur Select, and Open Trail; Amateur and Amateur Select Western Pleasure; and Amateur and Amateur Select Horsemanship.

- Trail Level 1 (Green)- 35
- Senior Trail Level 2 (Progressive)- 30
- Select Trail Level 3 (Open)- 28
- Junior Trail Level 2 (Progressive)- 18
- Western Pleasure Level 1 (Green)- 19
- Senior Western Pleasure Level 3 (Open)- 14
