Day 1: Journey to the AQHA Convention!

It’s always a grand adventure attending the AQHA Convention. We horse people love the country, so traveling via air can be a trial. Living on the central coast of California has it’s perks. We have miles of open country, great Quarter Horse country, no traffic, nearby beaches, and some of the loveliest wineries. The downside is airplane travel. I live outside of Paso Robles in a small town (San Miguel), so the nearest airport is located in San Luis Obispo.

You see, any flight from our area connects with Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Phoenix. That means our flight was supposed to board at 5:20 am.

Small towns as they are, I met up with other AQHA members heading to San Antonio. Bill Enk and Tracey Hatakeyama were on my same flight (not surprising as it was probably one of the few connecting to San Antonio). IMG_1232

Due to fog in LA, we are just now taking off at 6:10 am. The stewardess advised us we may be diverting to Palm Springs. Cross your fingers we’re able to land in LA and connect to San Antonio for the AQHA Convention and don’t get lost somewhere in the desert!

UPDATE: Phew, we made it to LA. Now onto Texas!
See you in San Antonio. . .
Stay tuned as CeCe and other AQHA members provide fun blogs and updates from the 2017 AQHA Convention.
