The wife of APHA Past President Bud Shoemaker, Beverly was also deeply rooted to Paint Horses and APHA. She was part of the APHA Amateur Committee from 1981-1992, serving as vice chairman of that committee in 1984 and 1987; she was also part of the Queen Committee in 1983.

There really is no way to adequately describe the impact she has had on this world. To the horse community, she is a legend. To her friends, she was fiercely loyal, selfless, and sacrificial in her love. To her family, she was the pillar of strength and made the world turn. She loved her children, horses and Jesus with unparalleled passion. There has never been someone quite like her, and she will not be forgotten. Her legacy lives in her family and the imprint she left on each community she touched.

“Quincy won so many titles, awards, buckles, ribbons, saddles, and prizes. The greatest award was what he gave to our family… He gave us beauty, laughter, and memories. He was the dream horse of several girls, and there will never be another like him,” says Dylania Kuppler.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Go Big Sky, multiple Congress Champion, NSBA World Champion, and Select World Champion. “Marcus” was the beloved companion of Rodger Call and the pair often excelled in their favorite Over Fence classes and Pleasure Driving. 

The only child of Anne “Miss Anne” Burnett Tandy, Marion was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, to be a strong businesswoman who appreciated the arts and loved the ranch that would someday be hers. She spent her summers on the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, established in 1870 by her great-grandfather Samuel “Burk” Burnett. At a young age, she earned the respect of the cowboys as she learned to ride horses and do the things they did. Her strong will and determination made her a fine leader, both in the ranching industry and the business world.
