“Truthfully, I didn’t set out to win the Amateur All Around award either year,” Angela says. “But, I’m lucky enough that he’s pretty good at several of the classes we compete in, so that’s always part of the goal. After last year, I really wanted to start Horsemanship, because I didn’t do that last year. Also, I wanted to get even better at the individual classes we compete in together. So, the All Around award is just an amazing bonus.”

“I really try to have confidence in my preparation and in my horse and my team that we’re going to be ready. There’s definitely some nerves you have to deal with, but I think acknowledging that you have them helps.”

“My dad has always told me to be ten points better than everyone else and that’s all you can do. You can’t make them question if you’re the winner or not. I went out there with that mentality.”

“He has a very big piece of my heart. I’ve been fortunate to have had a lot of nice horses that God has brought in my path, but I feel like we have a very special bond. I always say, that when I ride him, I feel like God made his back for my bottom.”

“It’s surreal. Even when I was out there, it didn’t seem real. I’ve always dreamed of this, so it’s a dream come true. It hasn’t sunk in yet, but I couldn’t be happier.”
