Exhibitors Competed For More Than $2.2 Million Purse at AQHA World

That’s a wrap on the largest AQHA World Show in history! During the Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals; and the Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 championships, more than 7,500 entries, 2,100 exhibitors and 2,700 horses competed for nearly 150 Farnam AQHA and Adequan® Select world championships, and nearly 150 Adequan® Level 2, Nutrena Level 1 and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals championships. The event, which was November 2-21 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, was held in accordance with local, state and federal coronavirus mandates and was closed to the general public.

Meet AQHA’s 2020-2021 Team Wrangler

Team Wrangler, a joint effort between Wrangler and the American Quarter Horse Association, promotes educational outreach for the horse industry. The 2021 team is as versatile as the American Quarter Horse, comprising top AQHA Professional Horsemen from across disciplines – from halter to all-around and roping to racing. This year, AQHA Team Wrangler will carryover from the 2019-2020 team.

ApHC Youth Competitors Whose 2020 Show Season Was Affected by COVID Can Now Apply For Waiver

Your request is DUE by December 10, 2020. It will then be reviewed by the ApHC Executive Committee. If approved, you will compete in 2021 as a non-pro and will earn non-pro points. However, points earned in non-pro classes may be added to your Youth Superior Achievement tally in order to allow you this one-time opportunity to complete that award. Example: if you need 15 showmanship points to complete your youth award, points earned in non-pro showmanship can be counted toward this youth requirement in order to allow you to attain the award.

MOSCOW, IDAHO — The candidates for Territory I in the 2020 ApHC Board Election received the same number of votes, and therefore resulted in a tie. The candidates for Territory I are Tom Hodges of Dexter, Oregon, and Kama Urton of Circle, Montana. According to ApHC By-Law, Article IV, Section 2, Part G, in the event of a tie, a runoff election shall be held between such candidates.

Combined Novice Amateur ranch classes saw a 77% increase from the 2019 World Show. Amateur ranch class entries remained steady while Open ranch classes saw a 22% increase. Open Solid Paint-Bred ranch classes increased by 50% over 2019.

Dancin N The Dirt Crowned 2020 AQHA World Superhorse

The 2020 Farnam Superhorse is Dancin N The Dirt, owned by Sandy Vargo of Plain City, Ohio. The 2011 bay gelding, by Hot N Blazing and out of Caught You Dancin, was bred by AQHA Professional Horsewoman Leslie Vagneur Lange of Greeley, Colorado. Dancin N The Dirt earned 33 points and was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman Chuck Briggs of Azle, Texas. Dancin N The Dirt won the world champion title in senior working hunter, reserve world champion titles in senior hunter hack and senior pleasure driving, and placed 10th in performance halter geldings.
