The Bloodlines of the Breed exhibit traces the bloodlines of the breed’s foundation sires from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including Lock’s Rondo, Old Billy, Printer, Peter McCue, Steel Dust, Roan Dick, Traveler, Shiloh, Little Joe, Old Fred and Old Cold Deck. The Bloodlines of the Breed exhibit is available for a limited time.

Continue reading …The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and the Intercollegiate Equestrian Foundation (IEF) have announced that the family of Naomi Blumenthal will honor her memory with a scholarship in her name. Blumenthal, a longtime member of the IHSA board of directors, passed away on Dec. 13, 2020. Blumenthal’s daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Corey Schneider, approached the IHSA and the IEF with the idea to create a scholarship that would honor her lifelong service to the equestrian industry.

Continue reading …The Young Horse Development Program participants raise their weanlings-turned-yearlings and document their monthly progress; participate in webinars; complete monthly management assignments; track goals; engage in mentoring sessions with local AQHA Professional Horsemen; and compile videos of themselves with their horses, completing assignments including trailering, an in-hand trail pattern and more. Following project completion, a select number of scholarships and prizes are awarded.
Continue reading …PAC currently has 45 class categories, with nearly 20 having few credit-earning participants over the past five years. The task force consolidated this list of categories down to 26. The consolidations included combining the appropriate 4-H and Youth categories so that Youth participants’ credits would no longer be divided, as well as combining the ranch and cattle classes into one category. These revisions will increase competition within the PAC program and simplify the way in which classes are organized into PAC class categories.
