“The indictment alleges that beginning in 2011, the defendants purchased American Quarter Horses from an auction house in Oklahoma using drug proceeds collected in San Antonio. The indictment specifically identifies six occasions in October and November 2011, where payments were made for horses. Each payment was under $10,000 so as to avoid having to complete an IRS form 8300, which would have alerted the IRS and possibly raised suspicion about the source of the funds.”

According to a piece from the Fort Worth Business, the American Paint Horse Association has signed a letter of intent to move its headquarters from the current location at the Mercantile Center business park in northwest Fort Worth to the Fort Worth Stockyards Horse & Mule Barns at East Exchange Avenue. This area of the Stockyards is scheduled for a $45 million restoration project that will provide 180,000 square feet of leasable space for new vendors.

Winning the class was Lara Yungclas aboard He’s Lazy No Doubt for owner Tanna Petersak. He’s Lazy No Doubt is by No Doubt I’m Lazy and out of Petite Seductress. The team took home $8,000 for the win. The Reserve Champion was Shelby Cochran aboard Winning Instincts, a horse sired by Sudden Instinct and out of Winners Always Flirt. The team was presented with a $5,000 for their second place finish.
