Okatie is one of the hardest hit areas of South Carolina, near Hilton Head Island, which suffered from what the governor called “unprecedented damage.” “The local PAL shelter reached out to us to help them and their community recover from the disaster, and we will do everything in our power to make a difference for the animal victims and their families,” said Randy Collins, national director of animal rescue for American Humane.

UPDATE: The University of South Carolina equestrian team has moved their home meet against Georgia to Sunday, Oct. 9, with a scheduled start time of 10 a.m. ET at One Wood Farm.

A new park is coming to Oklahoma City near Stockyards City and will be called the Oklahoma River Horse Park. Designs were unveiled September 29, along with a staking ceremony to celebrate.

With over 1,900 stalls in Santa Anita’s stable area, well over 1,000 HD video cameras have been installed in order to closely monitor human and equine traffic in and out of individual stalls and barns. The video footage from each camera is stored and available for detailed subsequent review to ensure full transparency in the barn area.
