“Based on events at the convention and obvious disagreements on how we go forward, and based on my heavy work schedule, it is in everyone’s best interest for me to resign,” said Ready.

The recent wildfires devastated acreage in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle and tragically took the lives of humans, horses and other livestock and wildlife in their paths. With so many needing help, the American Quarter Horse Association has provided financial support to the relief efforts of AQHA alliance partner Working Ranch Cowboys Association through its Foundation Crisis Fund and suggests donating much-needed supplies through the National Reining Horse Association.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of three equestrians who died on Monday in the Texas Pandhandle wildfires. Sloan Everett, Cody Crockett, and Sydney Wallace passed away on Monday while trying to move cattle from Franklin Ranch. Read more in the Amarillo Globe News.
